Reflections of a Recovering Anorexic: How to Like What You See in the Mirror Again

Anybody that has ever had anorexia or has witnessed somebody that is struggling with this disorder is perfectly aware of how difficult it can be to get back to a normal life style. But just because you have suffered from this disorder in the past, does not mean that you cannot live a normal life. There are thousands of people that have beaten anorexia and are now problem free.

If you are having trouble coming to grips with your new body, there are a few things that you can do for help. First off, there is nothing wrong with seeking professional help as a way of getting back on track.

There are many doctors and psychiatrists that specialize in eating disorders and by seeing one of these professionals you will be taking a big step to being fully recovered. If you do not feel quite comfortable speaking with a doctor, you can seek out the help of a friend or family member.

When you are with people that love you, it is always easier to get back to normal. Tell them what you are dealing with, and then let them know what they can do to help. This may not seem like the best way to get used to dealing with your new body, but in the long run having emotional support from the people that love you can be very beneficial.

Quite possibly, the most important thing that you can do when trying to love the new you is to get in the proper state of mind. In other words, if you do not feel good about the way that you look, nobody else is going to either.

And at the same time, if you let other people form your opinion of your body, you are just doing harm to yourself. You should realize that your body is a beautiful thing, and that there is no reason to be ashamed.

After you learn that feeling good will make you look good, there is nothing that will be able to hold you back.

Overall, recovering from anorexia can be a very difficult task. The number one thing to remember is that just because you had problems in the past, does not mean that you have to have problems in the future.

By learning to love yourself and the way that you feel, you will be on the right track to liking the way that your new body looks.
